June is PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder) Awareness Month. The “No One Heals Alone” Documentary creates awareness about one of the many devastating effects of war, PTSD, which it is not limited to the battlefield.
According to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, “PTSD is a mental health problem that some people develop after experiencing or witnessing a life-threatening or traumatic event. If symptoms last more than a few months, it may be PTSD. The good news is that there are effective treatments.”
According to the Institutes of Health, PTSD is a debilitating condition that affects first responders at a disproportionately higher rate.
